MG – How Does This Program Work?

MISSION STATEMENT

Magnified Giving is a 501(C)3 educational organization based in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, with partner schools in greater Cincinnati, central Ohio, northeast Ohio, southeastern Indiana, and northern Kentucky.  Our mission is to educate, inspire and engage students in philanthropy, and to touch the hearts and minds of teens, lighten the concerns of others, and magnify the impact of philanthropy.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

IMPLEMENTATION OF MAGNIFIED GIVING IS UNIQUE FOR EACH OF OUR SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS!

Curriculum Based Programs
Schools have identified the academic benefit of the Magnified Giving program and have blended it with classroom curriculum. Our program allows teachers to integrate problem-based learning into their classroom allowing students to learn through the experience of solving an open-ended community concern.  The Magnified Giving program is an enhancement to a standard lesson plan while still accomplishing all state requirements in a creative, thought provoking and potentially life changing technique.

Extra-Curricular Programs
Schools offer Magnified Giving in the form of a Club/Activity after-school.  This allows the school to design the flow of the program to best fit the culture of their school.  The Magnified Giving program is implemented within Key Club, Philanthropy Club, National Honor Society or an addition Activity to be offered to students.  We also encourage student led-initiative programs and only ask for adult support to help keep the process moving forward as needed.

Grade-Level Programs
Schools are offering Magnified Giving across an entire grade-level which allows the program to touch all students in a specific grade at the same time.  This process permits a school to magnify the impact on the students and the school culture by allowing, within multiple classrooms, a cross-education regarding the social cause selected and Non-Profit agencies researched.

All-School Programs
Why limit this educational and character-building program to a few students within the school?  All students should have the opportunity to explore, research and advocate for community action.  The Magnified Giving program fits within 7th – 12th grade levels in all core subjects.  Execution of the program across an entire school will change the culture of the student body by bringing everyone together through awareness, empathy, and purpose.

Timeframe Options

Our schools are granted the flexibility to design the program to best fit their school culture.  Examples of length of program implementation:

► Full year exploration, research and project creation
► Semester focused
► Month long immersive program

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Students learn by doing. When they serve and give now, data shows they are more likely to do it for their lifetime. Research shows if they are inspired and encouraged to do so, students will use their voices, personal knowledge and experience to serve as philanthropists. Passion and leadership for a cause is what calls others to action. There will be a massive transfer of wealth in the next 15 years. Philanthropy must be taught and supported now more than ever. We are the connectors of students, funders, community nonprofits and the people they serve. We know it matters and it works.
